Weekly Blog Final : Diner

Image
This video is rendered by Unreal Engine 5.5, using a plugin to export as mp4 "ffmpeg-7.1-full_build".     In the final week, I was creating some other props, lighting settings, and creating a level sequence to render video.          For the cactus, I was using curves and a loft tool to model the shape of the cactus. This process was nice to model a realistic and organic shape. For cabbage, I created a color with photoshop, exported it to Designer and merged it with the texture of  the small leaf veins, and created a normal map with histogram color.     To set up a level sequence, most of the settings are similar to the timeline setting of Unity. So I could set up without any problems.     For lighting in Unreal Engine, I added volume and height fog to express a light which comes from the outside. I changed the temperature in post processing volume.       Through this project, I challenged myself to so...

Unity parallel world (not completed)

Image
I use FPS controller script, other scripts, fog, textures, and sound effects from free websites. I created 3D objects and other scripts. In this video, I created options of language, English and Japanese. There's other choice that I let google to translate (or other translate tools), but I showed translated language because it will be little weird sentence if I used translator.  Language option bool is transferred by GameObject when the scene switch. I remember that it took 1 week to find this solution. Now, I understand the reason why the loading is slow, I added mesh collider at that time. When I turned off the mesh collider, loading became quickly. If there'll be opportunity to do Unity project, I'll be careful to use mesh collider and I'll use box collider as possible as I can. This video is when player booted game. As above, I use FPS controller in asset store(free). I controlled switching of light by switching active and inactive the spotlight object. I used and r...

Weekly Blog 2 : Bridge design exploration 【CAGD 495】

Image
Before working on the next object, I completely misunderstood the concept of the bridge. I thought that my idea was passed and I could follow it, but other teammates wanted a different design for the bridge. So, I recreated it by following the gate which was created by another teammate. For this time, I think my new bridge idea was passed.    For the bridge support, I designed its shape to reflect the idea of other teammates, and used the Smooth Mesh Preview tool to create its shape. While editing mesh after conversion preview to mesh, I realized that it'll be hard to edit a sharp edge. To avoid this problem I thought that I needed more edges BEFORE conversion to mesh. I can decrease edges anytime I want, but It is hard to add extra edges after conversion. Edge loops after conversion has a possibility that it will make extra edges which are no longer needed. I tried to make the surface smooth as well as possible, but some vertex on the surface is still in my mind. I created 1 ...
